Imi Read is a Freelance Illustrator and Art Director based in London, UK. Working with a multitude of clients, Imi works across editorial, clothing design, narrative storytelling and branded campaigns. With a passion for powerful narratives and vibrant illustrations, Imi delves into the realms of her imagination to create work often influenced by the si-fi and dystopian realm, commenting on the social relationships of our digital age.
Acting as a mentor through her work, Imi was invited to work alongside Adobe as a member of their international judging panel for the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, specifically judging the Illustration category, but taking an active role in all 6 categories and their applicants. Imi continues to have a working relationship with Adobe, taking on the role as judge for future years, and aiding them in building their relationship with budding creative talent worldwide.
As a multi-disciplinary creative, Imi also works as an Art Director alongside creative brands to strategise and bring to life creative campaigns. Beginning her relationship with Cortex as their Social Media Manager, Imi soon began working as Cortex’s lead Art Director amongst the thriving core-team. Alongside this, Imi has recently worked as Community Manager and Creative Strategist for Converse at Anyways Creative of The Hudson and Bec Group, building the foundations of their London based creative initiative.
